The Estate

Historically a tenant farm of the Dukes of Brissac, the current Château was renovated at the end of the 19th century by a sister of the Duke, Princess d’Arenberg. She used it as a vacation residence, appreciated its wines, and hosted many friends there, including Joseph Kessel. The estate was later sold in 1952 to a family of winemakers, who helped establish the reputation of Château Soucherie’s wines throughout the region. Since 2007, the Beguinot family has been guiding the destiny of this exceptional property, with a constant commitment to improving quality.

The vineyard, covering approximately 28 hectares, is spread across three sites. Around the Château, 22 hectares are located on a schist hillside facing south and sheltered from northern winds. The estate's predominant grape variety, Chenin, is vinified exclusively as a single varietal in their Anjou Blancs, Savennières, Coteaux du Layon, and Premier Cru Chaume. For Anjou Reds, Cabernet Franc, grown on the hillsides, can be blended with the highly local and surprising Grolleau, which adds fruitiness and roundness. Gamay, on the other hand, brings crunchiness and freshness to the rosés.

Le Clos des Perrières is a 1.80-hectare vineyard located in the heart of the village of Savennières, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Its unique position and four distinct soil types (sand, volcanic stones, schist, and granite) give this vineyard exceptional potential.

Viticulture: Now certified Organic Agriculture by Ecocert, the soils are cultivated with the help of Poitevin draft horses.

Harvest: The grapes are hand-harvested in small 25 kg crates, carefully sorted in the vineyard, and transported as whole clusters to the press.

Vinification: Fermentation and aging take place on lees for 14-15 months in 500-liter oak barrels.

Served at a temperature of 10-12°C, ideally after 1 to 2 hours of opening or decanting, this exceptional dry white wine pairs beautifully with:

Shellfish (langoustines, lobsters)

Delicate cooked shellfish (scallops)

Firm-fleshed fish in creamy sauces (turbot, sole, pike-perch)

Select white meats (poultry with fresh cream, veal, truffled white pudding)

A consommer vdans les 10 prochaines années.

Provenance and storage of our wines

All wines and other products come directly from the estates or their exclusive distributors. In some cases, rare and hard-to-find bottles have been purchased from private collectors or professionals. Our expertise guarantees the quality and authenticity of the bottles.

These are stored in the cellar, on Fondaudège Street, in their entirety. The most fragile and rare bottles benefit from aging in a Liebherr or La Sommelière wine cellar.
