The history of the Domaine begins in 1948, when François Raveneau married Andrée Dauvissat. Like many in Chablis at the time, François and Andrée were polycultural farmers. The climate was harsh, and the harvests were very unpredictable. During the 1960s and 1970s, thanks to technical advancements (tractors, frost protection for spring frosts, etc.), the estate began to grow. François fully dedicated himself to viticulture. Jean-Marie finished his studies and returned to work with his father in 1978. In 1995, when François retired, Bernard, after starting his career in Burgundy wine trading, joined his brother on the estate. Isabelle, Bernard’s daughter, started working at the Domaine in 2010, and Maxime, Jean-Marie’s son, in 2017. Together, they farm and vinify the family’s 10 hectares of vineyards.

This lieu-dit of the Premier Cru Monts Mains, located at the very top of the hillside, has a very clay-rich soil in the area known as Butteaux. The climate there is windier and colder. One-third of the vines were planted in the 1950s, and two-thirds in the early 1980s.
The Butteaux wines are very serious, deep, and mineral-driven. Reserved, sometimes austere and closed in their youth, Butteaux wines have excellent aging potential.

Questi sono conservati in cantina, in via Fondaudège, in totale. Le bottiglie più fragili e più rare beneficiano di un riposo in cantina di invecchiamento Liebherr o La Sommelière.
