Produced at the famous Château Rayas owned by Emmanuel Reynaud, Fonsalette is an important estate with 10 hectares of vines, some forest, some agricultural land and olive trees. White and red wines of Fonsalette copy the Rayas style, where grape maturity matters and the silky texture is mindblowing. The red grapes are grenache, cinsault, and syrah, when the white grapes are grenache, clairette, and marsanne.
The Château de Fonsalette Rouge 2012 is crafted through meticulous winemaking that highlights the exceptional terroir of the Rhône Valley. The grapes, predominantly Grenache, complemented by Cinsault and Syrah, are harvested at perfect ripeness. Fermentation takes place in concrete vats to preserve the purity of the fruit, followed by aging in large casks and barrels, adding complexity and structure without overpowering the wine’s character.
This wine displays a bright ruby color. On the nose, intense aromas of ripe red fruits (raspberry, cherry) blend with hints of sweet spices, garrigue, and licorice. On the palate, it reveals a silky texture, vibrant freshness, and remarkable depth. The tannins are delicate, supporting a persistent finish marked by nuances of candied fruits and black pepper.
With its perfect balance and aging potential, this vintage pairs beautifully with grilled meats or dishes featuring truffles.

Provenance and storage of our wines
All wines and other products come directly from the estates or their exclusive distributors. In some cases, rare and hard-to-find bottles have been purchased from private collectors or professionals. Our expertise guarantees the quality and authenticity of the bottles.
These are stored in the cellar, on Fondaudège Street, in their entirety. The most fragile and rare bottles benefit from aging in a Liebherr or La Sommelière wine cellar.
