The Estate
About forty kilometers from Bordeaux, Château Haut Saint Clair spans a 5-hectare vineyard, nestled on typical clay-limestone hills of the Puisseguin-Saint-Émilion appellation.
The history of the estate begins in the 1960s when Renée and Raymond acquire it. In 1978, their son Yannick takes over. Trained in viticulture and oenology, he quickly modernizes the operation by setting up barrel cellars and puts an end to cooperative winemaking.
Today, his sons Thomas and Nicolas are taking up the torch by developing sustainable viticulture and planting Mediterranean grape varieties.
The Wine
Vinification: fermentation in stainless steel tank
Aging: 12 to 14 months, in oak barrels
Tasting
Beautiful aromas of dark fruits and sweet spices, the acidity refreshes the attack, giving way to a powerful and full-bodied wine, with well-integrated tannins.
