Est-ce la plus petite propriété de Pomerol ? Du haut de ses 70 ares, le Clos du Canton des Ormeaux est tout cas une véritable rareté, alors en proposer des millésimes de plus de 12 ans est exceptionnel ! Olivier Cazenave, aussi propriétaire du Château de Bel, aime choyer ce bout de "jardin" comme il l'appelle. Détail insolite ? Le vin est produit sans électricité ! C'est dire la taille du chai !
PRESENTATION
- Appellation : Pomerol
- Grapes varieties: 97% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc
- Acreage: 70 ares
- Soil: One parcel shows clay-silty soils, on under grounds of graves with ferruginous and marly elements. The other one is composed of clay and limestone on top of iron dirt.
PROCESS
- Harvesting mode: manual
- Vinification: Vinification in casks (500 liters) with open-bottom. Malolactic fermentation in barrels.
- Ageing: On fine lees during 18 months
COMMENTS
- Tasting: the robe is a deep and intense garnet, nose is very expressive and complex with aromas of ripe red and black (currant, blackberry, black cherry, prunes and ripe strawberries) and spices (vanilla stick, liquorice, cinnamon, cedar).
- Service temperature: 15 to 18°C
- Ageing potential: Up to 15 years.

Provenance and storage of our wines
All wines and other products come directly from the estates or their exclusive distributors. In some cases, rare and hard-to-find bottles have been purchased from private collectors or professionals. Our expertise guarantees the quality and authenticity of the bottles.
These are stored in the cellar, on Fondaudège Street, in their entirety. The most fragile and rare bottles benefit from aging in a Liebherr or La Sommelière wine cellar.
