The Estate
Three estates in the Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux appellation, whose owner, Christophe Reboul Salze, has been able to reveal their potential over the past 10 years: Château Gigault, Château Les Grands Maréchaux, and Château Les Belles Colines.
Perched on the heights of the hill of Cars, the symbol of Blayais, Château Belle Coline is spelled with a single L, a nod to the name of Christophe Reboul Salze's youngest daughter. This estate benefits from a full south exposure on a terrain of secondary limestone marls... An ideal terroir for structured and powerful wines, also thanks to the 12 hectares of vines with an average age of 40 years.
The Wine
30% in new Bordeaux barrels (225L and 500L). 25% in one-year-old barrels, 25% in two-year-old barrels, and the rest in cement tanks.
Tasting
Aromas where black fruits, licorice, and chocolate blend together. Notes of truffle begin to emerge, with the tannins becoming silky. Relaxed and creamy mouthfeel where you can feel the Malbec adding its fleshiness to the tannins.
