Domaine Nicolas Mariotti Bindi

After studying law in Paris, Nicolas Mariotti Bindi chose to return to his native Corsica to devote himself to winemaking, despite having no family background in viticulture. He first trained in Beaujolais before working alongside some of Patrimonio's leading winemakers, including Antoine Arena, Muriel Giudicelli and Domaine Leccia, where he served as vineyard manager. His first vintage was produced in 2007 using a few hectares generously made available by Henri Orenga de Gaffory. In 2015, he established his own winery, Cantina di Torra, in Oletta, laying the foundations for what has become one of Corsica's most highly regarded estates.

Today, the estate covers around 15 hectares in the heart of the Patrimonio appellation. The vineyards are planted on a mosaic of clay-limestone soils, ancient alluvial deposits and rounded pebbles, creating a remarkable diversity of terroirs. Certified organic, the estate is managed with great respect for nature through minimal soil intervention, hand harvesting, massal selection, native yeast fermentations and very limited use of sulphur. Corsica's flagship grape varieties—Niellucciu, Vermentinu and Sciaccarellu—fully express the freshness, minerality and maritime influence that define the region.

Nicolas Mariotti Bindi's wines are renowned for their precision, purity and vibrant energy. Each cuvée is crafted to reflect the unique character of its vineyard, with ageing designed to preserve balance rather than impose style. The white wines stand out for their saline freshness and aromatic brightness, while the reds combine elegance, depth and freshness, offering a refined alternative to the richer styles often associated with Corsica. Consistently praised by wine critics, the estate has become one of the leading ambassadors of the modern Patrimonio appellation, producing wines of remarkable finesse and authenticity.
