The Producer

Philippe Grisard is a Savoie wine estate founded in 2010 by Philippe Grisard, who comes from three generations of winemakers and vine nurseryman. Located in Cruet, in the heart of the Combe de Savoie, at the foot of the Bauges massif, he is developing a project dedicated to the enhancement of traditional and forgotten alpine grape varieties. His expertise as a nurseryman also allows him to contribute to the preservation of Savoie’s ampelographic heritage.
The vineyard extends over approximately 16 hectares spread across six municipalities, in a mountainous environment marked by the diversity of soils and exposures. The plots rest notably on limestone scree, moraines, and clay-limestone soils, which promote a varied expression of the grape varieties. Jacquère, Altesse, Mondeuse noire, Persan, and Mondeuse blanche are among the cultivated varieties, alongside other local and international grape varieties.
The Philippe Grisard House combines traditional know-how and modern techniques to create wines that highlight the uniqueness of Savoyard grape varieties. Special attention is given to vinifications, adapted to each variety, with low-temperature fermentations for whites and aging in barrels for certain cuvées. Wines like Originelle in Mondeuse blanche or Les Molières in Mondeuse noire illustrate this desire to rediscover the richness and diversity of the alpine vineyard.
