Saint-Julien

The Saint-Julien AOC, established in 1936, spans about 900 hectares in the heart of the Médoc. Its deep gravel soils offer excellent drainage, producing elegant, balanced red wines with great finesse, dominated by cabernet sauvignon. The appellation is known for its many classified growths such as Château Léoville Las Cases, Château Ducru-Beaucaillou, and Château Léoville Poyferré. Saint-Julien wines pair wonderfully with roasted duck, lamb tagines, or semi-hard cheeses.
