Francs Côtes-de-Bordeaux

The Francs Côtes de Bordeaux AOC, established in 1968, covers about 700 hectares on the right bank of the Dordogne River, near Saint-Émilion. This appellation is known for its powerful and elegant red wines, mainly from merlot, cabernet franc, and cabernet sauvignon grapes. The clay-limestone soils provide structure and finesse to the wines. Francs Côtes de Bordeaux is often considered a hidden gem, offering excellent quality at affordable prices. The wines pair well with red meats, stews, and aged cheeses. The notable producer is Château Le Puy.
