Morgon
The Morgon AOC, established in 1936, covers about 1,200 hectares within the Beaujolais region. It produces powerful and fruity red wines from the gamay grape, known for their structure and aging potential. The granitic and volcanic soils give the wines a beautiful minerality. Morgon pairs well with red meats, stews, and aged cheeses. Notable producers include Jean Foillard, Marcel Lapierre, and Domaine Jean-Marc Burgaud.
