Located in Rotalier, in the south of Jura, the Domaine Jean-François Ganevat is the heir to a long winemaking tradition dating back to the 17th century. After several years spent in Burgundy at the prestigious Jean-Marc Morey estate in Chassagne-Montrachet, Jean-François Ganevat took over the family estate in 1998 and infused it with a new dynamic. Alongside his sister Anne, he quickly made the estate a global reference for great Jura wines thanks to a demanding vision that is deeply respectful of life.
A unique know-how at the heart of the Jura terroirs
The Domaine Jean-François Ganevat cultivates its vines biodynamically on the marls, limestone, and clays characteristic of the Jura. Old vines, mass selections, a great diversity of indigenous and forgotten grape varieties, limited yields, and manual harvesting form the foundations of a viticulture of rare precision. In the cellar, fermentations with indigenous yeasts, long aging, and minimal use of sulfur allow the identity of each plot to be brilliantly revealed, giving rise to wines of remarkable purity, tension, and depth.

The Wine
Clay-limestone terroir. Aged with topping-up in demi-muids for 4 years, with no other intervention. Bottled without fining, filtration, or added sulfur.
Tasting
Fine nose of white flowers, citrus fruits and Jurassic minerality. Ample yet tense on the palate, balancing saline freshness with ripe fruit. Long, elegant and vibrant finish.
