The Estate
The Domaine du Salut is a family-owned estate located in the heart of the Graves appellation, in the south of Bordeaux. Founded in the early 20th century, it has passed through several generations, each bringing its vision and expertise. The estate experienced a renewed growth in the 2000s with a strong commitment to producing authentic wines that respect their terroir, while also valuing the local viticultural heritage.
The vineyard extends over typical Graves soils: gravelly lands mixed with sand and clay, which ensure excellent drainage and promote the ripening of the grapes. The temperate oceanic climate, influenced by the proximity of the Garonne River, allows for a beautiful consistency in the vintages. The estate cultivates traditional Bordeaux grape varieties: merlot, cabernet sauvignon, and cabernet franc for the reds, and sémillon and sauvignon for the whites.
Today, the Domaine du Salut is run by Aurélia and Frédéric Caumont, who are committed to sustainable viticulture. They practice responsible farming and take care of every step of the winemaking process, with a true concern for precision. The estate offers balanced red wines with soft tannins, as well as fresh and expressive whites. Representative of the Graves appellation, the Domaine du Salut appeals to both curious enthusiasts and connoisseurs in search of remarkable quality-price ratios.
