The Estate
Sheltered by the Bessillons massif, located on terraced slopes between 340 and 375 meters in altitude, the 21-hectare vineyard, facing south, benefits from significant sunlight as well as the coolness of the nights at the end of the ripening cycle. The microclimate and the terrain combine with clay-limestone soils to give the wine freshness and fruitiness.
Carignan, Grenache, Syrah, and Cinsault produce red and rosé wines once blended.
The Carignan gives reds structure and deep color. The Grenache adds body and alcohol content, the Syrah contributes violet hues and aromas of red fruits, and the Cinsault provides softness and fruitiness. Caladoc was planted in 2018.
Ugni blanc and Rolle (also known as Vermentino) produce white wine.
The Wine
Tasting
Light salmon pink dress, shiny.
The first nose is quite spicy, almost peppery and slightly floral.
After swirling, the complex bouquet bursts forth, blending both exotic fruits and citrus, as well as some notes of small red fruits.
The palate is indulgent, ample, structured, and slightly saline. The finish with lemon zest and yellow fruits is slightly taut, making you want to take another sip.
