The Estate
Founded in 1661 by Pierre de Rauzan, Château Rauzan-Ségla quickly gained a reputation for excellence in the Médoc. Classified as a Second Growth in the 1855 ranking, the estate has shown remarkable consistency through the centuries. In 1994, it was acquired by Chanel, which launched a major modernization effort while preserving the estate’s noble heritage.
Located in Margaux, one of the Left Bank's most prestigious appellations, the 70-hectare vineyard lies on deep gravel soils typical of the area. These are perfectly suited for noble grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc. The unique terroir contributes to the wine’s elegance, aromatic finesse, and outstanding ageing potential.
With Chanel at the helm, Rauzan-Ségla perfectly balances tradition and innovation. The wines are known for their complexity, freshness, and silky texture. The technical team is committed to precise, sustainable viticulture aimed at expressing the full identity of this great Margaux classified growth.

Tasting
The 2014 vintage bears the signature of great Médocs: a rich and complex wine, certainly, but with a beautiful tension, structured by dense tannins and good acidity. The fruits are ripe and intense, and the wine envelops the palate with elegance. The tannins reveal themselves to be silky and are accompanied by characteristic notes of licorice. A lovely freshness also accompanies the finish, thus completing the overall balance.
