The Estate
The François d’Allaines estate was founded in 1996 by François d’Allaines, a true wine enthusiast trained in Beaune, the heart of Burgundy’s wine country. Before starting his own venture, he worked for several years as an estate manager, gaining deep knowledge of Burgundy’s terroirs and winemaking methods. From the outset, he adopted a high-precision négociant model, carefully selecting grapes or musts from trusted grower-partners with whom he maintains close and demanding relationships.
Based in Demigny, in the Côte Chalonnaise, the house focuses mainly on prestigious appellations from the Côte de Beaune, such as Meursault, Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet, Santenay, and Pommard. The grapes come from well-situated plots, rooted in limestone and clay-limestone soils typical of the region, which bring finesse, tension, and complexity to the wines. Every stage of the winemaking respects the character of the terroir, with long and precise aging in barrels to reveal the natural elegance of each appellation.
Today, François d’Allaines is renowned for his pure, precise style in both white and red wines. His wines are known for their clarity and balance, always aiming for harmony between richness and freshness. Production remains artisanal and small-scale, highly sought after by lovers of elegant Burgundy wines. Through long-term partnerships and meticulous vinification, he offers authentic cuvées that are faithful expressions of their respective climats.

Tasting
The wine reveals a fine and expressive nose blending white flowers, ripe citrus, and a subtle touch of noble wood. On the palate, the attack is lively, driven by a beautiful mineral tension, before unfolding into a broad and elegant texture. The long and saline finish confirms the precision and balance of this great white from the Côte Chalonnaise.
