The Estate
Domaine de Chevalier, located in Léognan at the heart of the Graves, has been mentioned since the 18th century. Long considered a “hidden cru” due to its discreet setting in the middle of the forest, it gradually earned a reputation for excellence. Since 1983, it has been owned by the Bernard family, who have passionately invested to elevate the estate among the finest growths of Bordeaux, both in red and white wines.
The vineyard stretches over an exceptional terroir of deep gravel, with stones lying on clay and sandy subsoils. This diversity ensures excellent water regulation and optimal grape ripening. The estate’s varietal composition is well balanced: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc for the reds; Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon for the whites — offering remarkable complexity and freshness.
Today, Domaine de Chevalier ranks among the most respected Crus Classés of Graves. Its wines are renowned for their elegance, depth, and outstanding ageing potential. The reds stand out for their finesse and harmonious structure, while the whites are considered among the greatest dry wines of Bordeaux, marked by purity and tension. Under the leadership of Olivier Bernard, the estate continues to pursue precision and excellence, combining traditional savoir-faire with modern techniques.
The Wine

Tasting
Light gold color with bright reflections. The nose is intensely fruity and finely floral with a lot of freshness. Vineyard peach, mango, apricot, star anise, in a bouquet of hawthorn and acacia flowers and honeysuckle. The palate is dense, generous, indulgent, lively, with a silky touch. Refined, ripe, and very delicate flesh. Long, elegant finish with great finesse. The acidity is well present, without weakness, and balances well the high level of concentration of this wine.
