Listrac-Médoc
The Listrac-Médoc AOC, established in 1957, covers about 1,200 hectares on the left bank of the Gironde River in the Médoc region. The red wines, mainly made from cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc, and petit verdot, are known for their power, tannic structure, and aging potential. The gravelly and clay-limestone soils add complexity and robustness. Listrac-Médoc is often considered one of the most approachable Médoc crus while offering good quality. The wines pair well with red meats, game, and aged cheeses.
