Champagne

The Champagne AOC, established in 1927 in northeastern France, covers approximately 34,000 hectares of vineyards across five departments. Wines are made primarily from pinot noir, pinot meunier, and chardonnay using the traditional Champagne method. Chalky and limestone soils provide finesse, minerality, and complexity, producing wines with fine bubbles, lively acidity, and aromas of white fruits, citrus, and brioche. Champagnes pair ideally with aperitifs, seafood, fine fish, poultry, and desserts, but can also be enjoyed on their own for celebrations. Notable producers include Moët & Chandon, Dom Pérignon, Krug, Bollinger, and Salon, all renowned for their quality and expression of Champagne’s diverse terroirs.
