The Producer
Château Le Grand Verdus is a family-owned estate located in Sadirac, in the Entre-deux-Mers, with a history dating back to 1846, when the Le Grix de la Salle family acquired the estate. The château, built in 1579, gradually became a true wine estate after World War II. Today, Antoine, Thomas, and Édouard Le Grix de la Salle continue this family tradition by combining Bordeaux know-how, innovation, and a quest for quality.
Located on the rolling heights of the Entre-deux-Mers, east of Bordeaux, the vineyard benefits from a mosaic of soils and microclimates, with plots rising between 40 and 110 meters in altitude. The clay-limestone, clay-gravel, and limestone soils allow for precise adaptation of grape varieties to each plot. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc make up the reds, while Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon hold an important place in the whites.
The estate manages its vines using organic farming, certified since 2023, with particular attention paid to biodiversity and soil life. Parcel-based vinification and aging tailored to each cuvée — in stainless steel tanks, concrete, or barrels — aim to preserve the expression of the fruit and the uniqueness of the terroirs. From classic red and white Bordeaux to more original parcel cuvées, Le Grand Verdus champions a contemporary and expressive vision of Bordeaux wines.
