The Producer
Founded in 2017, in Cadaujac, south of Bordeaux, this family-owned house is named after the grandmother of the founders, Cedrik and Axel Nadé, a strong, demanding, and trustworthy woman. Values that the two brothers wanted to embed in the genes of their establishment.
Maison Mounicq has set itself the mission of selecting and crafting remarkable, rare, and exclusive spirits, inspired by the world of vines and wine. Of unparalleled quality, they highlight the passionate producers who work to offer the fruit of their exceptional know-how and the richness of their terroir.
The Wine
A molasses rum from Mauritius, aged for three years in Bourbon and Cognac casks. It is then refined in two Bordeaux casks: one ex-Sauvignon blanc from Château Ambre de Maltus and one ex-Merlot from Lalande de Pomerol.
Tasting
This rum reveals rich aromas of chocolate, coffee, roasted almond, and vanilla, with a long, woody, and spicy finish. To be enjoyed neat, at room temperature. Perfect with a pear-almond tart or a fruit tart.
