Edmond Vatan is a legend in Sancerre, making Clos la Néore one of the most sought-after white wines in the world. Each year, only 4,000 bottles leave the winery, as the estate now has just one hectare in Chavignol, on the Monts Damnés. The clay-limestone soil of Clos la Néore is quite similar to the terroirs of Chablis, imparting the wine with incomparable richness and an extraordinary aging potential.
Since 2008, Edmond's daughter Anne has taken on her father’s work, maintaining a sense of continuity, much to the delight of fine wine enthusiasts.
Clos la Néore is a model of concentration, minerality, and complexity. Its citrus-driven aromas with hints of anise give way to an incredible length on the palate.
Open 3 to 6 hours before tasting, never settle for young vintages (10 years old or plus only).

Provenance and storage of our wines
All wines and other products come directly from the estates or their exclusive distributors. In some cases, rare and hard-to-find bottles have been purchased from private collectors or professionals. Our expertise guarantees the quality and authenticity of the bottles.
These are stored in the cellar, on Fondaudège Street, in their entirety. The most fragile and rare bottles benefit from aging in a Liebherr or La Sommelière wine cellar.
