The Estate

The Domaine Michel Mallard is a family-owned estate located in Ladoix-Serrigny, at the crossroads of the Côte de Beaune and the Côte de Nuits. For five generations, the Mallard family has cultivated vines with passion, combining respect for Burgundian traditions with a progressive openness to modern practices. In the 1950s, Michel Mallard gave the estate his name and solidified its identity, centered on elegant and structured wines. Today, his grandson, also named Michel Mallard, carries on this legacy with rigor and ambition.

The estate covers around ten hectares, primarily in the appellations of Ladoix, Aloxe-Corton, and Corton Grand Cru. The soils are predominantly composed of marl and limestone, with ideal exposure on the slopes of the Corton hill. This exceptional terroir, combined with meticulous plot selection, allows the production of deep, balanced wines that masterfully combine finesse and power.

Michel Mallard represents a new generation of demanding and dedicated Burgundian winemakers. He also oversees vinification at the prestigious Domaine d’Eugénie in Vosne-Romanée, a testament to his standing among the region’s elite. Within his family estate, he crafts authentic and precise wines, with careful barrel aging that respects the fruit. His style is focused, concentrated yet elegant, with excellent aging potential for the top cuvées. The estate has become a must-know address for lovers of Corton and beautifully expressive Pinot Noir.

The Wine

Domaine Michel Mallard practices sustainable viticulture, with meticulous soil work, controlled yields, and manual harvesting to preserve fruit integrity. In the cellar, vinification follows traditional methods with long macerations, indigenous yeast fermentations, and oak aging (about 30 to 50% new barrels depending on the cuvée), aiming to express the purity of the terroir without excessive extraction or oak influence.

Tasting

The Corton Grand Cru Les Maréchaudes from Domaine Michel Mallard opens with a deep bouquet of black cherry, violet, sweet spices, and well-integrated oak. On the palate, the wine is dense and structured, with fine tannins and a beautiful mineral tension that extends the finish. It is both powerful and refined, with excellent aging potential and a pure expression of this noble terroir.

Provenance and storage of our wines

All wines and other products come directly from the estates or their exclusive distributors. In some cases, rare and hard-to-find bottles have been purchased from private collectors or professionals. Our expertise guarantees the quality and authenticity of the bottles.

These are stored in the cellar, on Fondaudège Street, in their entirety. The most fragile and rare bottles benefit from aging in a Liebherr or La Sommelière wine cellar.
