The Producer
Originally from Maranges and the son of Bernard Bachelet, Vincent settled in 2008 in a splendid building that runs along the prestigious route of great wines. For 3 generations, wine and vineyard work have marked the seasons of the Bachelet family. His estate houses spectacular vaulted cellars dating back to the 18th century.
Established on 17 hectares, the Vincent Bachelet estate produces 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay, which mainly come from the Côte de Beaune with an enclave in the Côte de Nuits. This family estate spans the municipalities of Maranges, Santenay, Chassagne-Montrachet, Saint-Aubin, Puligny-Montrachet, Meursault, Pommard, and Gevrey-Chambertin.
The estate is organized around a set of buildings that combine history and modernity. Its 18th-century vaulted cellars allow wines to rest entirely aged in oak barrels. In parallel, a new winery has recently been built to vinify under optimal conditions, particularly separating red wines from white wines.
The Wine
The grapes are hand-harvested, sorted, and completely destemmed. The maceration lasts about fifteen days at controlled temperature.
Regular punching down and watering are carried out during the active phase of alcoholic fermentation. Malolactic fermentation is done traditionally in new oak barrels, with one or more wines.
Aging duration: 16 months.
Tasting
