The Producer
Located in the heart of the Entre-deux Mers, Château Sainte-Marie benefits from an optimal geographical location. The ideally exposed plots stretch across two perfectly sunlit hills, among the highest points in the Gironde.
Old Vines with controlled yields, including a plot of Sémillon and Merlot over 100 years old, guarantee the excellence of an increasingly qualitative production.
The great diversity of terroir brought together at Château Sainte-Marie is an essential characteristic that can be found in the typicity, authenticity, and expression of our wines. The richness of our terroirs offers a selection worthy of the greatest wines. Our quest for authenticity has led us to go beyond the geographical limits of the estate to select plots located several kilometers apart. This selection, based on a rigorous geological study, brings together terroirs of great complementarity.
The Wine
Vinification: Skin maceration at low temperature (between 10 and 15 degrees Celsius) to gradually extract the aromas from the grapes. Then, the must is gently pressed with a pneumatic press to preserve the purity of the juice. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, maintained between 15 and 18 degrees Celsius, thus preserving the fruity aromas of the wine through slow and controlled fermentation.
Aging: Aging in 400-liter barrels with weekly stirring.
Tasting
Brilliant straw yellow color. On the nose, enchanting aromas of white flowers and ripe peach blend with subtle notes of honey. On the palate, its generous texture and lively acidity reveal flavors of white-fleshed fruits and a refreshing finish. Best enjoyed between 9°C – 11°C. Pairs well with appetizers, mussels, grilled shrimp, or vegetarian dishes like a warm goat cheese salad.
