The Producer
Founded in 1626 in Ribeauvillé, Domaine Trimbach is one of the great historical signatures of Alsace wine. Passed down from generation to generation for nearly four centuries, the house has built an international reputation based on rigor, consistency, and a very precise vision of Alsace wine. The Trimbach family, now represented by the 13th generation, has always championed a dry, straight, and elegant style, becoming an absolute reference for Riesling.
The vineyard mainly extends around Ribeauvillé and Bergheim, on complex soils mixing limestone, marl, and sandstone, particularly suited to Alsatian grape varieties. The semi-continental, dry, and sunny climate allows for a slow and complete ripening of the grapes, favoring aromatic precision and the natural tension of the wines. Some emblematic plots, such as the Grand Cru Geisberg or Osterberg, contribute to the depth and longevity of the estate's cuvées.
Today, Domaine Trimbach remains true to its historical style: dry, pure, and chiseled wines, without seeking effect, designed to stand the test of time. The Riesling Clos Sainte Hune, the estate's mythical cuvée, embodies this quest for excellence and precision. The Wine
Exceptional terroir on the Grand Cru Rosacker in Hunawihr, this Clos has belonged to the Trimbach family for over two hundred years and spans 1.67 hectares.
The vineyard, over fifty years old, benefits from a south-southeast exposure on a subsoil predominantly composed of Muschelkalk limestone (or shell limestone) and yellow limestone.
Tasting
A specific aroma and remarkable fruit concentration enhanced by a refined hint of minerality on the finish and an incredible length… the hallmark signs so typical of Clos Sainte Hune after a few years of aging.
The small annual production, averaging 7000 bottles, makes it a precious wine coveted by all Riesling enthusiasts and collectors worldwide.
