The Producer
Located on the right bank of the Gironde estuary, Château Tour des Graves is part of the long winemaking tradition of the Côtes de Bourg appellation, whose history dates back to the Gallo-Roman era. The estate owes its name to the presence of characteristic gravelly soils and an ancient tower that once testified to the agricultural and strategic activity of the region. Passed down through generations, the vineyard has gradually been built around a family know-how attached to respecting Bordeaux traditions and enhancing the potential of this historic terroir.
The vineyard of Château Tour des Graves benefits from a typical terroir of the Côtes de Bourg, predominantly composed of clay-limestone and gravel, resting on well-exposed hills overlooking the estuary. This privileged location allows for a temperate microclimate, where the regulatory influence of the Gironde limits climatic extremes and promotes a gradual ripening of the grapes. The traditional Bordeaux grape varieties, mainly Merlot complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec, find here ideal conditions to express balance, structure, and aromatic generosity.
Today, Château Tour des Graves continues its development by combining modern techniques with respect for the identity of the estate. The work in the vineyard aims to preserve the quality of the grapes through sustainable viticulture and controlled yields. The winemaking is carried out with precision to reveal the fruit, roundness, and elegance characteristic of the wines from the Côtes de Bourg. The estate thus offers accessible cuvées that are representative of their appellation, appreciated for their indulgent character, harmonious structure, and ability to pair well with both traditional cuisine and more contemporary pairings.
