The Producer
Founded in 2007 in Monthélie, in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, the Sarnin-Berrux estate was born from the meeting of two enthusiasts: Jean-Pascal Sarnin and Jean-Marie Berrux. After different paths, the two friends joined forces to create a human-sized Burgundy trading house, driven by a shared vision: to produce authentic wines that respect nature and are true to their origins. Quickly, their artisanal and committed approach earned them growing recognition among natural wine lovers in Burgundy.
The philosophy of the estate is based on a rigorous selection of grapes coming exclusively from winemakers working in organic, biodynamic, or in conversion agriculture. Not owning their own vineyard, Sarnin and Berrux travel through Burgundy to identify high-quality plots, particularly in Chablis, Saint-Romain, Savigny-lès-Beaune, Volnay, or Meursault. In the cellar, the winemaking aims to be as natural as possible: indigenous yeasts, little or no additives, aging in old barrels, and minimal interventions to preserve the pure expression of the terroir.
Today, the estate offers a varied range of about twenty cuvées, ranging from the great Burgundy appellations to more free wines in Vin de France or Beaujolais. They all share a common signature: precise, elegant, and digestible wines, marked by the freshness of the fruit and great drinkability. This sensitive and demanding approach has made Sarnin-Berrux one of the most respected artisanal merchants in contemporary Burgundy.
