The Producer
Founded in 2017, in Cadaujac, south of Bordeaux, this family-owned house is named after the grandmother of the founders, Cedrik and Axel Nadé, a strong, demanding, and trustworthy woman. Values that the two brothers wanted to embed in the genes of their establishment.
Maison Mounicq has set itself the mission of selecting and crafting remarkable, rare, and exclusive spirits, inspired by the world of vines and wine. Of unparalleled quality, they highlight the passionate producers who work to offer the fruit of their exceptional know-how and the richness of their terroir.
The Wine
In homage to their ornithologist father, and to the freedom that birds embody, the Nadé brothers named their gins Avem, which means “bird” in Latin. Made from grapes sourced from the Bordeaux region, they are crafted according to the art of blending, an emblematic technique of the wine world. The Bordeaux grape varieties Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Sémillon provide a rich texture, a beautiful length on the palate, and perfect balance. These round and indulgent gins, with a unique signature, have been awarded numerous times.
Tasting
This artisanal French gin draws its unique character from the art of blending, inherited from Cognac. Made from Bordeaux grape varieties (Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon, Sémillon) and juniper berries, Hippolais is a floral, citrusy, and subtly spiced spirit, awarded 14 times internationally. A bold grape gin, best enjoyed simply with tonic or a few white grapes.
