Cérons
The Cérons AOC, established in 1936, spans around 30 hectares within the Graves region, near the Garonne River. It produces exclusively sweet white wines from sémillon, sauvignon blanc, and muscadelle, in a style similar to Sauternes, though often lighter and more delicate. Gravel soils over limestone and frequent morning fog favor noble rot development. Fun fact: Cérons shares its terroir with Barsac and Sauternes but remains under the radar, offering excellent value. Pairings: foie gras, blue cheeses, fruit tarts. Notable producer: Château de Cérons.
