The Estate
Founded in 2017 in Cadaujac, south of Bordeaux, this family-owned business is named after the founders' grandmother, Cedrik and Axel Nadé, a strong, demanding, and trustworthy woman. Values that the two brothers wanted to embed in the DNA of their establishment.
The Mounicq House has set itself the mission of selecting and crafting remarkable, rare, and exclusive eaux-de-vie, inspired by the world of vines and wine. Of unparalleled quality, they highlight the passionate producers who work to offer the fruit of their exceptional know-how and the richness of their terroir.
The Wine
For this new collaboration with Aymeric Roborel de Climens, Cedrik and Axel Nadé selected and blended two casks of Alsatian whisky. The first whisky was matured in a former Merlot cask from Clos Manou (Saint-Christoly-Médoc, 33), and the second is a peated whisky at 40 ppm.
Tasting
This French whisky opens with a vanilla-scented nose, followed by woody, smoky, and subtly wine-like notes. On the palate, its fruity roundness gives way to a long, toasty finish. Best enjoyed neat, at room temperature. It pairs beautifully with cured meats, cheeses, chocolate desserts, or foie gras.
