The Producer
Located in the heart of Entre-deux-Mers, Château Sainte-Marie benefits from an optimal geographical location. The ideally exposed plots stretch across two perfectly sunlit hills, among the highest points in the Gironde.
Old vines with controlled yields, including a plot of Sémillon and Merlot over 100 years old, guarantee the excellence of an increasingly qualitative production.
The great diversity of terroir brought together at Château Sainte-Marie is an essential characteristic found in the typicity, authenticity, and expression of our wines. The richness of our terroirs offers a selection worthy of the greatest wines. Our quest for authenticity has led us to go beyond the geographical limits of the estate to select plots located several kilometers apart. This selection, based on a rigorous geological study, brings together terroirs of great complementarity.
It was in 1936 that the Dupuch Family settled at Château Sainte Marie. For many years, the family protected and maintained the polyculture system (livestock, grains, vines…). Gradually, the family fully focused on wine production. Today, Stéphane and Laurence Dupuch manage the estate with passion, determination, and a particular attachment to the typicity and originality of the terroirs.
The Wine
Density sorting after the harvest, followed by a light and delicate pneumatic pressing to fully preserve the aromatic potential of the fruit. The alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at low temperatures, between 15°C and 18°C, thus preserving the freshness and aromas of the wine.
Aging: In stainless steel tanks to maintain freshness.
Tasting
With a bright and pale color, you will find notes of yellow fruits and white flowers, such as white peach and acacia. A harmonious balance between roundness and acidity. A pleasure wine to share around a table. Best enjoyed between 9°C – 11°C. Pairs well with appetizers, shellfish, a fish dish, or sushi.
