The Producer
The Dirler-Cadé estate is one of the great historical names of the Alsace vineyard. Established in Bergholtz since 1871, the Dirler family has been cultivating vines for several generations before partnering with the Cadé family in the 1990s. Early on, the estate oriented itself towards demanding and respectful viticulture, becoming a reference in biodynamics in Alsace. This committed vision is part of a constant search for purity, balance, and a faithful expression of the terroirs.
The estate spans about twenty hectares across some of the most beautiful hills in southern Alsace, particularly in Bergholtz and Guebwiller. The vines rest on a mosaic of complex soils – sandstone, limestone, marl, and volcanic – which give rise to very differentiated expressions depending on the specific locations and Grand Crus (Saering, Spiegel, Kessler…). The work in biodynamics helps preserve the vitality of the soils and express with precision the minerality and tension unique to each terroir.
Today led by Ludivine Dirler and Christian Cadé, the Dirler-Cadé estate is recognized for the precision and integrity of its dry wines, as well as for the finesse of its gastronomic cuvées. The vinifications are minimally interventionist, with slow fermentations and careful aging, allowing the wine to develop naturally. The estate's wines stand out for their balance, depth, and remarkable aging potential, making Dirler-Cadé an essential reference for great wines of Alsace.
