The Producer
Founded in 1880 by Adriano Ramos Pinto, the Ramos Pinto house quickly established itself as one of the major figures in Port wine. A visionary and bold entrepreneur, its founder developed an innovative commercial strategy early on, particularly for exports to South America, which greatly contributed to the brand's reputation. Today, integrated into the Louis Roederer group, Ramos Pinto perpetuates a legacy that combines tradition and modernity.
The estate spans several iconic quintas in the Douro Valley, including Quinta do Bom Retiro, Quinta da Ervamoira, and Quinta dos Bons Ares. This spectacular vineyard, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site, is characterized by its steep terraces and schist soils, perfectly suited for the cultivation of indigenous Portuguese grape varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, and Tinta Roriz. Ramos Pinto places great importance on the study of soils and microclimates, particularly through pioneering work in parcel mapping.
Today, Ramos Pinto stands out for its demanding qualitative approach, combining respect for the traditions of Port and technical innovation. The house produces a wide range of wines, from Ruby and Tawny Ports to exceptional vintage cuvées, while also developing still wines from the Douro. The Wine

Fermentation in concrete, stainless steel, and oak tanks, depending on the plot. After malolactic fermentation, 20% of the wine is aged in French oak barrels, 30% in barrels and tanks, and 50% in stainless steel tanks, for 12 months.
Tasting
The first spicy and fleshy aromas seduce and envelop us. By swirling the glass once more, a balsamic fat aroma emerges, bursting with ripe cherries. The aromas follow this sequence in the mouth, with a velvety and round attack and a spicy and structured finish.
