Mercurey

The Mercurey AOC, established in 1936 in the Côte Chalonnaise, covers 530 hectares of red vineyards (including 145 hectares of Premier Cru) and 115 hectares of white vineyards (including 20 hectares of Premier Cru). The reds, made exclusively from pinot noir, produce powerful, structured, and elegant wines with red and black fruit aromas and good aging potential, while the whites from chardonnay are fresh and fine. Clay-limestone soils enhance optimal ripening and the typicity of the terroir. Red Mercurey wines pair perfectly with grilled red meats, game, and aged cheeses, while whites complement fish, poultry, and creamy dishes.
