Pommard

The Pommard AOC, established in 1936 in the Côte de Beaune, covers approximately 337 hectares of vineyards, planted exclusively with pinot noir. Pommard reds are known for their power, tannic structure, and aging potential, with aromas of red and black fruits, spices, and sometimes undergrowth as they mature. The iron-rich clay-limestone soils contribute to the depth and typicity of the wines. Pommard reds pair particularly well with red meats, game, stews, and aged cheeses. Notable producers include Domaine Comte Armand, Domaine de Courcel, Domaine Jacques Prieur, Domaine Lafarge, and Domaine Leroy, all recognized for fully expressing the terroir of the appellation.
