Hautes-Côtes de Beaune

The Hautes-Côtes de Beaune AOC, created in 1961, covers about 800 hectares on the hillsides and plateaus overlooking the Côte de Beaune. It produces pinot noir reds, fruity and approachable, as well as chardonnay whites, lively and floral. Clay-limestone soils and higher altitude bring freshness and lightness. Pairings: charcuterie, grilled poultry, goat cheese. Notable producers: Domaine de la Vougeraie, Domaine Jean-Claude Boisset, Domaine Parigot.
