Condrieu
The Condrieu AOC, established in 1940, covers about 150 hectares in the northern Rhône Valley. It is exclusively dedicated to white wine made from viognier grapes. Granite soils and steep hillside exposure give the wines rich aromatic complexity, with floral, fruity, and spicy notes, and a smooth texture. Pairings: fine fish, seafood, poultry, refined Asian cuisine. Notable producers: Domaine Georges Vernay, Gangloff.
